Outlook Express

Outlook Express is now not supported by Microsoft. There were many versions launched of Outlook Express. The 4.0 was introduced in 1998 which stores messages in MBX format. The 5.0 was introduced in 1999. The latest was Outlook Express 6.0 which was launched in 2001 for Windows XP. It was a popular email client. But today it has been replaced by Windows Mail or Live Mail. Like Hot Mail or Gmail, Outlook Express enables users to download messages to the computer hard drive. It was a preinstalled program of Windows 98, XP and 2000.

If you want to use Outlook Express as your email client, re-install Internet Explorer 6 to make Outlook Express easier. The email client has not its own installation tool.

Note: Vista and Windows 7 users cannot install outlook.

Navigate the Internet Explorer 6 and download it

Click the download and save the file to your system

Double click the setup file and carefully follow instructions to complete the process

Restart the PC to activate the Internet Explorer. Now, you are capable to install Outlook Express easily.

There are several other top email clients that users can consider instead of Outlook Express. As Microsoft has discontinued the development of Outlook Express versions, it is suggested to use other email clients. You can consider MS Outlook which is one of the best email clients for Windows.
